a safe place to grow, discover and become your best self.
Regan Gray, MS, LMFT
I’m an Edmond native, born and raised here. I received my undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University, my masters degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and then returned to Oklahoma to earn my marriage and family therapy license. I did get married sometime in there and moved to Vermont for a year with my husband. That was an adventure!
I’m a wife and a mom of two young children. I especially value the time this work allows for me to spend with my family. I love going on adventures and traveling with my family, horseback riding, and most animals. I am a pianist and was even a piano performance major my first semester of college. I started riding horses as an adult, and the power of horses to ease my stress led me to join the board of Align Equine Therapy Center in Oklahoma City, with the goal of becoming a certified equine psychotherapist.
What’s it like to work with me?
I am not your “typical” therapist. Some days I’m dressed in professional clothes, while other days I rock therapy is cool t-shirts and jeans. I’m more likely to show up in cowboy boots than heels, and I use humor and life experiences in our sessions. I teach coping skills, explore your background, and try to dig in deep to help you become your best self, individually and within your relationships.
My desire to be a therapist started in college as I studied psychology, and the individual background of my undergrad studies mixed with my marriage and family studies of my graduate work give me both the background and the education to work well with everything from individuals to couples to families.
I have furthered my education and training in perinatal mood disorders (think of things like postpartum depression), birth trauma, faith crisis and transitions, Emotionally Focused Therapy, EMDR, and am currently working towards being a certified equine psychotherapist.
I fully acknowledge that I am human, with my own strengths and weaknesses that contribute to who I am in the therapy room. Hopefully who I am resonates with you and makes us a great fit to work together.
